While visiting my little sister, Jackie, I knew I couldn't leave without photographing her and her partner, Beylen. After a little planning and scouting, we decided there was no better backdrop than the iconic Texas State Capitol. Jackie and Beylen have called the Austin area home for nearly two years. Rather than simply taking beautiful portraits, I wanted this session to reflect a chapter of their story.
Every couple has places that become part of their journey together, and for them, Austin has become exactly that. Photographing them at one of the city's most recognizable landmarks felt like the perfect way to preserve these memories for them.
Throughout the session, I guided them with gentle prompts instead of stiff poses. My goal is always to create an experience where couples can relax, laugh together, and simply enjoy being present with one another. The in-between moments are often the ones you’ll find yourself looking back on.
